Destiny 2 Vexcalibur Secret Mission Walkthrough

The Secret Mission that unlocks the Exotic Vexcalibur Glaive can only be revealed after completing a puzzle within the Gulch, found in the European Dead Zone on Earth. Once this puzzle is completed, you can collect the NODE.OVRD.AVALON mission and access the secret area that will lead you to collecting the Vexcalibur.

Here is a break down of the NODE.OVRD.AVALON secret mission objectives:

Solve the Gulch Vex Orb Puzzle

• Visit the Gulch in European Dead Zone, Earth
  • Search out floating cube-shaped Vex orbs
    • Each Vex orb you collect grants you another number sequence in a secret access code
    • There are a total of six Vex orbs you must collect throughout the Gulch to unlock the full access code You only have 30 seconds to travel from one Vex orb to another
• Collecting all six Vex orbs in the Gulch unlocks the Simulated Cave Access Code. A Vex energy effect will appear in the sky. Follow it to find a cave entrance directly below.
• Head through the cave and speak to the Harpy to collect the Exotic NODE.OVRD.AVALON mission.

Enter the Vex Network Maze

Once you have collected the NODE.OVRD.AVALON mission from the Harpy inside the Gulch cave, you will have access to the first area of this secret Exotic mission... the Vex Network Maze.

Mission Requirements:

• Season of Defiance required

Enter the Vex Network and traverse the twists and turns. The Vex flooring will deal damage over time, which requires you to wall climb and platform.

Solve the Vex Orb Puzzles in Variant Security Protocol

At the end of the Vex Network maze, you emerge in the Variant Security Protocol. Here you will start to be bombarded by enemies. At the same time, you will need to solve a puzzle by shooting the shaped Vex Orbs along the center column.

Objectives:

• Defeat enemies
• Enter three access codes
  • You can see a set of Vex orbs of various shapes appear along columns scattered on the platform when you first land. Pay attention to the order the shapes appear in from top to bottom. The column in the center of the area will materialize larger Vex orbs of the same variety of shapes. Shoot the Vex Orbs on the center column in the same order that other columns appears.
    • For example, if one of the columns in this area has a series of Vex Orbs that appear as "Circle, Circle, Square, Diamond" from top to bottom, you would shoot the Circle Vex Orb that appears on the center column first, followed by Circle, Square, Diamond.

Gather Data and Take Shelter

After surviving and solving the Vex Orb puzzles, you will move onto an arena with more enemies. As you kill enemies in the next arena, they will drop purple orbs. Collect these purple orbs. Interact with the glowing column in the center to “deposit data”.

Once data has been collected, a cylindrical bunker opens up in the center of the room. Jump down into this hole before the timer runs out to avoid being eliminated.

You will be teleported to another area, where you must repeat the activity again and eliminate the Data Nullifier enemy.

Enter the Node Core

This next area is a platforming section. Proceed through cautiously, until you find a portal that teleports you into the Reroute Dispatch arenas.

Defeat Brakion

The last section of the NODE.OVRD.AVALON Secret Mission tells you to Override Brakion’s Access Gate. Defeat the enemies and deal damage to the final boss, Brakion, all while solving the same type of Vex Orb Puzzles that you encountered at the start of the Variant Security Protocol area.

Look for these similiar Vex Orb codes around the arena and enter them into the center column as Vex Orb shapes appear there.

Once Brakion is defeated, interact with the Glaive to complete the mission.
